FAQ – Changes in business operation

If you have a guarantee from Finnvera

• Contact your bank. The bank will apply for all changes related to the guarantees on your behalf.

If you have a loan from Finnvera

• You can apply for an instalment-free or adjusted payment period by submitting an electronic application in our online service.

We try to process the applications as quickly as possible.

We encourage our customers to prepare realistic estimates of the revenue and expenses and to contact their bank in time if they need additional financing.

Early repayment is possible under the terms of the promissory note. Please contact the nearest Finnvera customer service well in advance.

Notify Finnvera's customer service of any changes. Finnvera does not receive automatic address updates on the basis of notifications of move or from other address registers. Name changes are also not updated automatically on Finnvera.

Notify Finnvera's customer service in advance if substantial changes are expected in the company's ownership relationships or management bodies, for example if the company changes or leaves the company's management, the guarantor (guarantor or pledger) or the general partners of the partnership.

As Finnvera's agent, Intrum manages measures related to bankruptcy. If you have given a guarantee on behalf of the bankrupt company, Intrum will send you a payment request. If you are unable to pay your guarantee liability at once, contact Intrum to negotiate a payment schedule.

After you have closed down your business, you may be in a situation where your personal income does not cover your debts and liabilities. Voluntary arrangements in which you conclude new payment agreements with your creditors or repay your debts with a new loan may be one solution to the problem. You can also apply for debt restructuring for a private person both as an active entrepreneur and after the end of your business. Adjustment of private persons' debts is a statutory procedure in which a private individual with excessive debts makes debt payments for a few years (depending on his/her ability pay) after which no further payments need to be made.
