Finnvera has granted a buyer credit guarantee for building the sixth vessel in Royal Caribbean Group's groundbreaking Icon Class series at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland

The sixth vessel in Royal Caribbean Group's groundbreaking Icon Class series will be constructed at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. Finnvera has granted a buyer credit guarantee supporting the project.

The vessel is scheduled to be delivered in 2029. The guarantee amounts to approximately EUR 2 billion (USD equivalent). The program strengthens European industrial capabilities and helps maintain strategic shipbuilding expertise in Finland.

The Icon Class programme provides valuable long-term continuity for the Finnish shipbuilding industry. The strategic importance of the cruise shipping and shipbuilding sectors continues to grow amid geopolitical developments.

The construction of each cruise ship of this scale represents one of the largest individual industrial projects in Finland and generates significant added value for the Finnish economy. The project supports thousands of jobs across the Finnish maritime industry.
