Finnvera Venture Capital manages InvestorExtra, a service which has grown since 2008 to become a 240+ member business angel network intended for private investors.
The service is meant for business angels who are interested in making investments in growing early-stage enterprises seeking to be international. The service goes through Finnvera’s project pool and presents enterprises that are interested in private equity and in the opportunity to supplement the investment with business angels’ know-how concerning, for instance, working on the Board.
Registration into InvestorExtra service has been free of charge, but since the beginning of 2013 Finnvera has stopped taking new registrations. Finnvera will organize ExtraEvent picthing events also in 2013 as part of the cooperation agreement with Finnish Business Angles Network FiBAN. InvestorExtra-members are invited only to the first two events (January 29th and March 12th) but after that invitations are sent to FiBAN members only. Finnvera provides financing for the start, growth and internationalisation of enterprises and guarantees against risks arising from exports. Finnvera strengthens the operating potential and competitiveness of Finnish enterprises by offering loans, domestic guarantees, venture capital investments, export credit guarantees and other services associated with the financing of exports. The risks included in financing are shared between Finnvera and other providers of financing.
Finnvera is a specialised financing company owned by the State of Finland and it is the official Export Credit Agency (ECA) of Finland.
