Applying for an investment from business angels

From the beginning of 2013 the business angel financing is applied on Finnish Business Angels Network FiBAN webpages www.fiban.org and applying through Finnvera has ended on December 18, 2012.

Some of the companies applying for funding from business angels are selected for presentation at ExtraEvents organised by Finnvera for business angels. The evaluation team formed by business angels selects the applicants for presentation. The angel network is primarily interested in Finnish early-stage enterprises.

When selecting companies, particular attention is paid to the following aspects:

• Application's clarity and consistency. Draw it up carefully;
• Innovative and unique products or services;
• The size and attractiveness of markets;
• The competitive environment and the company’s edges in competition;
• The clarity and credibility of the earnings model.

The dates for spring 2013 ExtraEvents are shown below. In the parenthesis are the dates of the evaluation team meetings in which the selections are made to each ExtraEvents:

Tuesday January 29, 2013 (application time ended)

Tuesday March 12, 2013 (evaluation team meetings on Wednesdays 23.1, 13.2 and 27.2)

Tuesday April 23, 2013 (evaluation team meetings on Wednesdays 20.3 and 10.4)

Tuesday June 4, 2013. (evaluation team meetings on Wednesdays 8.5 and 22.5)

The application should be send latest on Tuesday at 4 pm of the previous week of the evaluation meeting.
