Monitoring and reporting

If necessary, terms and conditions related to environmental issues may be included in the guarantee or credit agreement. If the project involves other export credit agencies, information regarding environmental issues will be exchanged with them, and every effort will be made to establish a common approach and requirement level during the negotiations as concerns any contractual terms and conditions.

Where necessary, the lender’s duties may include monitoring the environmental issues involved in the project. Records will be kept of projects in which environmental obligations are included in the guarantee and/or credit agreement. Financiers will follow up on the environmental obligations in the same way as for any other obligations the project involves, and will report to Finnvera.

Finnvera’s Board of Directors will receive statistical summaries of the guarantees arranged by environmental category and by calendar year. If necessary, the Board of Directors will receive reports on other environmental issues related to the projects.

Reports regarding the environmental information for category A and B projects will be submitted semi-annually to the OECD Export Credit Group.
