Finnvera encourages the guarantee applicants and project developers to publish, according to their possibilities, envi-ronmental impact information and monitoring reports of the projects.
In the case of environmental category A projects, the granting of a guarantee requires that environmental impact infor-mation shall be disclosed 30 days before Finnvera signs the guarantee agreement. The relevant parties' consent is required for the disclosure.
In a category A project, the international EIA practice requires that environmental information is disclosed locally. A link to a website will be published on Finnvera’s website providing access to the environmental information for a category A project. The extent of the disclosed information varies depending on the project. The parties may also agree on another method for disclosing the environmental information.
In addition, our website will feature the following basic information regarding projects:
Feedback from stakeholder groups will be compiled and its contents may be taken into consideration if it offers an es-sentially new aspect on the project. If necessary, arrangements can be made to direct any questions from interest groups to e.g. the guarantee applicant.
In addition to this Finnvera discloses annually – in accordance with the OECD environmental agreement – information, including environmental information, on projects classified in categories A and B for which Finnvera has made a final commitment. The relevant parties’ consent will be asked for the disclosure.
The disclosure requirement may be waived for exceptional reasons (see OECD recommendation).
