Topi Vesteri elected Vice President of the Berne Union

At the 60th Annual General Meeting of the Berne Union, held in Merida, Mexico, Director Topi Vesteri of Finnvera was elected Vice President of the Union for the term 2003 - 2004.

Dr. Hans Janus of Euler Hermes Germany, the company responsible for Germany's official export credit programme, was elected President.

The Berne Union is an international organisation established by institutions and corporations that provide guarantees against export financing risks and against political risks. It has 52 members from 43 countries.

The Berne Union looks after its members' interests and provides training to ensure high-quality risk management in guarantee operations. In addition to training for its members, the Berne Union engages in exchange of information concerning risks.
